Cerro Coso Community College celebrated the remarkable achievement of Bishop student Emma Dutton last week, as she was awarded a $10,000 scholarship to continue her studies in public health at the University of Nevada, Reno.
The scholarship, funded through a partnership between the Eastern Sierra Foundation and Southern California Edison, acknowledges Dutton’s academic record and dedication to making a positive impact in the community health field.
“I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the Eastern Sierra Foundation and Southern California Edison for creating the ESCC Transfer Scholarship,” Dutton said. “This support will allow me to continue my education at the University of Nevada, Reno, and pursue my dream of working in the health sciences. I am truly grateful for the opportunity this scholarship provides for students like me, who are committed to their goals.”
Dutton’s commitment to improving public health outcomes reflects Cerro Coso’s mission to empower students and foster success through education and community support, Cerro Coso’s Eastern Sierra College Center director Kim Blackwell said.
